What should I know to jump?

Pick your training method HERE
1. I have friends or family that want to come and watch. Will this be a problem?
Not at all. Bring them down to participate in the fun! There is plenty of space outdoors so that they can sit around and watch the jumpers or socialize with the club members and others. Or, if they would rather join in, there is usually room to fit a couple more into the classes.

2. How much time will this take?
Plan on spending the entire day. There is no guarantee as to what time you will jump. This sport is very weather dependent.

3. What should I bring with me?
Bring yourself and a picture I.D. with your birth date on it.

4. What if the weather looks bad?
Show up as planned, unless you are notified.

5. Are there any places to eat?
There are no restaurants located at the drop zone or the airport. There are vending machines available inside the airport FBO building. The dropzone is located about two miles from downtown Waseca, which offers dine-in, fast food, grocery stores, and just about anything you desire.

RECOMMENDATION - Bring a picnic basket and cooler and just hang out, watch the action, and get to know this sport!

6. What should I wear?
Wear something that you are comfortable in and you don't mind rolling around on the ground in (potential grass stains). Dress for the weather!

Wear sturdy shoes or boots that are comfortable and do not have hooks. No sandals for jumping are allowed. If your toes are exposed, you will not jump in them. (Sturdy ankles are a plus!)

Do not wear any jewelry or other items that you don't mind losing. It is a relatively safe place to leave your things lying around. But, the potential for loss is always present. On the other hand, if you jump with it, you'll most likely lose it!

Do not wear anything that has hooks or carries the potential to snag on anything. Jewelry and boots or shoes with hooks are frequent examples of what not to wear.

7. I have children, what can I do with them?
MSC does NOT have a child care facility, nor does the airport. Airports are dangerous places!!! There are hazards all around the airport and the dropzone that most people are not aware of, especially children. We have designated areas for spectators to hang out and remain out of the way of the skydiving operations. If you bring children with you, bring a designated supervisor, who will keep a very close eye on where they are and what they are doing.

8. Can I bring my pet with me?
Yes you can, but it is not recommended. Pets are not allowed in the buildings and there are no shade trees. If you do bring your pets, they must be contained at all times. Airport operations can be very unpredictable and dangerous!

9. Can I bring alcoholic beverages to celebrate my skydive?
Yes, but alcohol can only be consumed in MSC's hangar, and only after jump operations have ended for the day!

10. Are there any weight or health restrictions?
There is a weight limit of 220lbs and you must be in reasonably good health that would not rule out physical activities.
