A few guidelines for the drop zone...
What to wear - Basically dress for the weather. You will be spending most of the day outside. Also, running shoes and clothes that you do not mind getting dirty. NO boots, these often have hooks on them that provide a hazard in parachuting.
Time - Plan on spending the day at the drop zone. There are weather conditions to account for and there are days when we have to wait for weather conducive to safe student jumping. We've all done it.....many times.
Health & weight restrictions - There is a weight limit of 220 lbs. Skydiving is a physical activity that requires reasonably good health.
Children, pets, and spectators - Anyone is more than welcome to come out and watch. But airports can be dangerous. Airplanes have spinning propellers, cars drive around on the tarmac, landing parachutes come in at 60mph at times. For these reasons, if you are bringing children and/or pets make sure they are watched and on a leash. (Okay, only the pets need to have a leash.)
Alcohol - Alcoholic beverages may be brought to the drop zone. But they may only be consumed in MSC's facilities (the hanger). And only after jump operations are done for the evening. (Usually sunset.)
